Is Aura free?
Yes — no paid tier, no card. When the Shelf links to a product at Amazon.in or Nykaa, some links earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That is the whole business model, set out on the disclosure page.
What happens to my face photos?
The guided scan runs in your browser and the video frames are never uploaded. One processed portrait is stored, readable only by you, so the next scan has something to compare against. You can delete any scan, export everything, or delete the account from your account page.
Can Aura tell me what condition I have?
No. Aura is a wellness tool, not a medical device. It measures markers; when a pattern belongs with a registered dermatologist, it says so and tells you what to bring to the appointment.
Why does it ask about my water?
In most Indian cities hard water is the biggest variable nobody accounts for. It changes what a cleanser does to your barrier and drives many of the scalp complaints people blame on shampoo.
Do I need a good camera?
No. A normal phone camera in daylight is enough. Without a camera you can upload one clear, front-facing photo instead.
Does this work for men?
Yes. The markers are measured the same way, and the protocol covers shaving, beard care and the male hairline.
